![]() ![]() I've not seen it again since this morning. Editing and rendering 1080p h.264, 4K ProRes, and 12-bit 4K DNxHR 444 files does not cause the computer to freeze.Īlso, the voltage drop appears more and more to be a fluke. Resolve has become pretty much unusable for me the last few weeks, and I've taken every step I can short of replacing hardware or wiping Resolve from my computer for a clean install.Īfter further tests, it appears as though the issue only arises when using 6K BRAW footage. Sorry for the gigantic message, but I really need help with this. I did notice today though that there was a sudden drop in CPU voltage just before the crash. ![]() When I monitor the system before a crash, there has never been a sudden spike in CPU, GPU, RAM, or VRAM usage. After the first few bouts of crashes, I would do something in my troubleshooting that would stop the crashes for a few weeks or months, but it's been crashing consistently for the past several weeks. Sometimes it crashes within a few seconds of starting a render, other times after rendering for 15 minutes. Sometimes just by scrolling through the timeline. Sometimes it crashes while just loading the project. There isn't really a pattern to when the system crashes. Same if I go back to the original output. Upon reconnect, the monitor says it's not getting any input at all. Used random footage from the original project to create a single 15-minute timeline (no Fusion) and it crashed while adding a color grade to one clip and about 20 seconds into attempting to render the timeline.ġ1) Reconnected my monitor to the second output of my GPU after the computer has frozen. as a single clip.ġ0) Creating an entirely new project in the hope that maybe there is just an issue with the project file itself. No issues on the laptop at all.ĩ) Tried rendering individual clips vs. I actually ended up having to finish the project on the laptop. This sometimes works for a while, but the system eventually crashes anyways.ĥ) Rendering out the Fusion clips (after several failed attempts that caused to system to crash) and moving them to an inactive track to reduce any background strain they may be placing on the system.ħ) Duplicating my current project and working off the duplicate.Ĩ) Backing up the project and working on my laptop, which is quite a bit less powerful. I've been running into this problem since about January on this machine, so I've gone through a few versions of 16 as well as every version of 17 up to the current version.ģ) Full stress tests of system using Furmark, Cinebench, and the entire complement of OCCT tests to rule out any failing hardware.Ĥ) Reducing timeline resolution. Here is a list of everything I have done to attempt to diagnose what might be causing it or anything else I can determine about the nature of the problem:ġ) Update DaVinci Resolve. Here are my system specs, in case there might be some weird incompatibility going on: The footage is primarily BMPCC 6k RAW footage with several Fusion clips as well. The issue primarily presents itself on a large (45ish minutes) project I've been working on since January. ![]() The fans continue to spin and my GPU outputs an image, but the system becomes completely unresponsive, to the point that any audio that might be playing in the background (I like to listen to music while I work) cuts off as well. I am having a massive issue with Resolve causing my entire computer to freeze up regularly, making me force restart by holding the power button. ![]()
